Extended description:

The Evil Temple spans five floors, connected by a central shaft.   The lower two levels are mazes surrounded by an open colonnade.   The shock rifle is the main weapon on the much more open Level 3.

The central shaft is a water zone, making it possible to swim up to higher levels.   At the base of the central shaft, on Level 1, is an oversized damage amp (is the dubious doctor overcompensating for something?).   The gravity in the central shaft is slightly negative; if you don’t try to move, then you (and discarded weapons) will drift slowly up until bumping into the ceiling of Level 5.

Level 4 of the Evil Temple

Except for many columns, Level 4 is completely open.

The many pillars make it easier to hide from enemy fire and to escape the blast from the relic of vengeance or the redeemer.

Level 5 is off-limits to bots.   Only humans may visit the Unholy of Unholies, which contains the powerups of keg of health, armour, shield belt and invisibility by the flames in the four corners.   The only redeemer is available on the roof.

The map is completely zoned, with location information on all levels (which matters in team games, but not in classic deathmatch).

This map was first created in 2003, but with very few path nodes.   Bots were often stranded where they spawned.   During the pandemic of 2020 Doctor Evil turned his malevolent gaze upon this dusty old relic and updated his decrepit Evil Temple.   Ramps have been added in one corner to make it easier for bots to to ascend to higher levels of the Evil Temple, although they do sometimes swim up the central shaft.
